LandscapeCalc ("we", "us", "our") operates LandscapeCalc.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Site, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.

Data We Collect Directly

We do not operate a user account system, server-side database, or analytics pipeline of our own. Any data you enter into our calculators — customer names, addresses, saved quotes, pricing settings — is stored exclusively in your own browser's localStorage. We do not knowingly collect, receive, or store this information ourselves, and have no built-in mechanism to view, retrieve, or delete it remotely. The Site uses third-party services that independently collect information about your visit through your browser to help us understand site traffic. We disclose their data collection as the publisher who has chosen to embed these services, not merely as an uninvolved third party.

Hosting and Standard Server Logs

The Site is hosted by Netlify, a third-party web hosting provider. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider's servers may automatically log basic technical information for every visit — such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp — as part of normal web server operation and security monitoring. This is standard infrastructure-level logging, not something we configure, query, or use for marketing purposes.

Data Collected by Third-Party Services

The Site uses third-party services that independently collect information about your visit through your browser. This is standard for any ad-supported website, and as the publisher embedding these services, we want to be specific about what they do rather than imply we are uninvolved:

• Google Analytics — may collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited, time on site, referring pages, and general device/location information, identified by your IP address at the time of your visit (not your name or account).

These services are operated by Google, not by us, and are governed by Google's own Privacy Policy. We do not control what data Google collects or how long Google retains it, but we have chosen to include these services on the Site and are responsible for disclosing that choice to you.

Cookies and Consent

The Site itself does not set cookies for core functionality — all calculator data and settings are stored in localStorage, not cookies. Google Analytics sets its own cookies for analytics purposes, governed by Google's policies linked above.

Cookie consent practices vary by region and by visitor. If you are visiting from the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with opt-in cookie consent requirements, you can prevent advertising and analytics cookies from being set by using your browser's cookie controls, a tracker-blocking browser extension, or by declining cookies before the page fully loads.

We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, as no common industry standard for honoring them has been formally adopted. Some browsers and extensions support sending a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal indicating an opt-out preference. Google has stated that it processes GPC signals where applicable for opt-out purposes; we rely on Google's infrastructure for this and have not independently verified its handling on a per-visitor basis.

Data Retention

We have no retention period to disclose for calculator data, since it is never transmitted to us — it remains in your browser's localStorage until you clear your browser data, switch devices, or reset it within the Site. Data collected by our hosting provider or Google Analytics is retained according to those parties' own retention policies, which we do not control.

Your Privacy Rights (GDPR / CCPA / Other Regions)

Depending on your location, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing such as targeted advertising.

In practice: we do not hold any calculator or quote data ourselves, so there is nothing on our end to access or delete — that data lives only in your browser, and you can clear it at any time via your browser settings. For data collected by our hosting provider or by Google (Analytics), these rights must be exercised directly with those parties. If you email us a rights request, we will respond to confirm what (if any) data we hold related to your request — in most cases none — and direct you to the correct third party where applicable.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information (CCPA)

Because this Site operates entirely using your browser's local storage and does not sell or share your data for monetary or promotional value, we do not engage in the "selling" or "sharing" of personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). All calculation details, customer data, and estimate history remain securely stored on your own device and are never tracked or transmitted to us or any third-party advertising networks.

Legal Basis for Processing (EU/UK Visitors)

For non-cookie-based, aggregate technical operation of the Site (such as standard hosting logs), we rely on our legitimate interest in operating the Site, balanced against your rights as a visitor. This basis does not extend to analytics cookies; those rely on your consent. If you are in a jurisdiction requiring opt-in consent, you can prevent these cookies from loading by using your browser's cookie controls or a tracker-blocking browser extension.

International Data Transfers

Our hosting provider and Google's advertising/analytics services may process data on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

This Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and was not designed, marketed, or written with the intent of appealing to children. The content — landscaping and construction calculators — is intended for general adult and professional use. We do not knowingly design any feature to collect information from children, and the Site has no account system or session tracking, meaning we have no technical means of detecting a user's age or selectively altering ad behavior per visitor.
